SavedClips and RecentClips serve different needs
SavedClips holds saved dashcam events that you may want to revisit. RecentClips contains recent rolling footage and can change as the drive is used. In the viewer, you can select the main TeslaCam folder to browse both when they are available, or choose one clip folder to narrow the list.
Review a drive without uploading videos
Open the viewer in Chrome or Edge and grant it access to the folder holding your recordings. The browser reads the MP4 files from that drive or your computer. Choose an event in the sidebar, then use the shared timeline to pause, seek, change speed, or step through frames.
The viewer's map and telemetry tools depend on data in the recording. Older or incomplete clips may play without those overlays. Optional map and weather services can receive location data when used.
Choose the angle that answers your question
Switch layouts to focus on the front view, inspect side cameras, or keep several views visible together. A view can only appear when its file exists in the selected recording. If an event seems incomplete, check its folder for the expected MP4 files and try another event.
Capture or export what you found
Use a screenshot for a still frame. For a shorter video, mark an in and out point and inspect the export choices. Some export tools have access limits; the export page explains the workflow without assuming a particular account or license.
Common questions
Can I open a single MP4 instead of a TeslaCam folder?
This viewer is designed around TeslaCam folders and their event structure. Select the folder containing your recordings for the best event browsing and camera matching.
Why is RecentClips empty?
Check that the selected drive still contains recent video files. Recent footage can change when the drive is used again.
Do the recordings leave my computer?
The viewer reads video files locally. Optional external services may use location data for maps or weather.
